Please see our ChronoTrader Policies and Terms of Use. | Learn more about How To Include Photos In Your Postings. |
Rules: Postings must be an ad announcing an intent to sell, buy or trade. Full item description and photo(s) must be posted within the message here, not as links to other websites. Links to online auctions and other sites: Links to online auctions, dealer sites or other listings of items are permitted, but you should be careful to ensure that such listings will comply with our other ChronoTrader Policies. In addition, we request that sellers linking to online auctions or listings offer some benefit or accomodation to ChronoTrader readers (for example, some discount or an undertaking to end an auction early, to keep a watch "in the family"). Photos must be of the actual item for sale in its present condition. No counterfeit or replica products. No post for the same item may be repeated within 7 days, except to lower the asking price. Commercial dealers are limited to three unique posts per day. [More...]
: This Autavia is a modern re-issue of the original (and world's
: first) automatic chronograph dating from 1969 featuring the
: pioneering Caliber 11 movement. It's unusual appearance with the
: crown on the left is apparently for 2 reasons – to make using
: the chrono buttons easier and to show that although you can
: hand-wind the watch, you really don't need to.
: The watch functions perfectly. The chronograph operates with a
: sweeping second hand and resets to zero every time. It also
: keeps surprisingly accurate time at +1 second a day on the
: wrist! This is the most accurate automatic watch I've ever owned
: and even more amazing considering the chrono complication.
: The sapphire crystal and bezel is unmarked. There are some minor,
: superficial marks on the brushed finish surrounding the bezel,
: but not noticeable on the wrist and I was unable to show them in
: photos. The caseback and lugs are unmarked. The bracelet and
: clasp have minor marks from normal wear. I have worn the watch
: most on a leather Rallye strap (not included) to give it a more
: vintage look.
: These watches are almost guaranteed to appreciate in value, but I
: would rather wear my watches more than just keep them in a safe
: place. The retail price of this watch was £2,400 in the UK and
: they are hard to find on the used market so it's quite hard to
: value. It comes with the balance of the original retailer's
: extended warranty which runs to August 2012!
: Included in the sale are therefore
: Tag Autavia CY2111 automatic chronograph
: Original metal bracelet with all original links
: Instruction manual
: Original receipt
: Warranty and watch care advice
: Original watch box and outer box packaging
: The watch is in the UK, but I will entertain overseas sales and
: have completed buying and selling trades with the US many times
: through various watch forums.
: Selling to raise funds for an upcoming trip so not interested in
: trades at this stage. I am looking for £1050 including insured
: next-day delivery in the UK by RMSD. I think this is reasonable
: as I have seen others advertised and sold for more on auction
: sites. I will accept payment by PayPal (gift or +4%). Overseas
: buyers please contact me for an insured, shipped price (should
: be around $1700).
: Contact me at antlen@hotmail.co.uk as I will get this sooner than
: PM. Loads more photos on request.
: Thanks
: Anthony
