Hi CT,
Here I have for sale a gorgeous and all original Omega Megasonic.
This watch is just killer. We all knew Omega made some nice watches, but this is on another level. In the middle of the quartz crisis, Max Hetzel (the designer of the Bulova Accutron), designed this one and only caliber: cal. 1220. It has an asymmetric tunning fork that vibrates at 720Hz (instead of the more common 300Hz calibers) and a micromotor. The micromotor consists of an oil filled sealed box where a wheel is mounted on four rubies. When the fork vibrates, this wheel bounces off two opposite ruby springs. (Source: OmegaForums).
It is working perfectly, no flaws at all. The quicksate date (and no, you will have to mannualy set the day) works smoothly. The seconds hand smoothly slides through the blue, unique dial.
The case is in very nice condition, some scratches here and there from normal use, but it hasn’t been abused whatsoever. The hands and dial are, in my eyes, mint. It also comes with the original Omega-signed crystal.
The 36M serial number dates it back to 1973, so this could be a perfect birth year watch for you guys out in your late 40’s.
This watches are becoming scarce, specially in this condition. So grab them now or regret it later!
