Although it was made in the early 1950’s. the large and clean dial is both original and easy to read with a very strong Art Deco aesthetic
Few are aware that SADA was a sub brand of Omega , with the brand name being registered to “Omega Watch Co. SA / Louis Brandt in the late 19thC.
In the authoritative book ‘Omega, A Journey Through Time’ on page 48 …. their entry states mention Patria. The brand name of Patria was first registered by the Brandt Bro’s. on October 10 1892.
Initially distributed in France and later norther America and also Russia.
The Patria brand name was then transferred to SADA , which stands for Societe Anonyme Department Achats, an organization created by Omega in 1906 to supply less expensive watches to retailers whom were not part of the official Omega distribution network.
The dial is a real standout , with gold deco style font and clear blue / red telemetre markings and the appealing Breguet Ponife style hand …… which Omega used in select 1930’s / early 40’s models also , this Fine Oversize Swiss Sada 1950’s Deco Style 37m Mint Chronograph really does look the goods and functions as good as any and better than most vintage chronographs of this period priced at double this price.
