For sale is an Omega Speedmaster Mark III from 1972 in excellent vintage condition. The highlight of this attractive 1970’s chronograph is the Cal. 1040 movement and the blue dial in virtually perfect condition. Please refer to the pictures as they are an important part of the listing.
MODEL / REFERENCE: Omega Speedmaster Mark III, Ref. 176.002, serial no. 34252345
DIAL+HANDS: The dial is in original and near perfect condition All printing is original and crisp. The date wheel is clean. The hour and minute hand retain the original tritium lume. When activated with UV light, the tritium hands glow briefly and then fade off.
CRYSTAL: Mineral glass in very good condition with only minor scratches towards the edge.
MOVEMENT: Omega Cal. 1040 automatic movement in full working condition. 22 jewels, operating at 28800 bph. The chronograph starts, stops and resets to zero. The date changes at midnight.
CASE: 40 x 51 mm stainless steel case in unpolished condition consistent with the age of the watch
CASEBACK: stainless steel factory engraved caseback in very good condition.
CROWN / PUSHERS: Original Omega signed crown and original pushers.
BRACELET: The watch comes on the original Omega 1162 steel bracelet with folding clasp. The inside of the folding clasp carries a custom engraving “H.R.” The bracelet has stretch and the clasp shows signs of use. The endlinks are stamped “172”.
