For sale is a great looking Oscar Squale Master 100ATM. This is a rare watch and especially in this condition.
A brand born in the 50’s out of the need to provide reliable watches to a burgeoning sport diving industry, Squale were renowned for their high quality dive watches and were considered innovators in their chosen field.
Their reputation was such that other companies soon began commissioning them to build dive watches for them, and this is the reason you now see many co-branded Squale dive watches from the 60’s and 70’s. During this period they sponsored many of the greatest sports-divers, and from this the Master series of 1000m water resistant was borne.
The version I have for sale here is an Oscar-branded piece dating from the somewhere late 60s, early 70s. The case (41mm) is in great vintage condition. The case lines are sharp and does not show signs of polishing at all. From what I can see there are no dings or dents but some scratches commensurate with its age. Crown is signed. Serial number clearly visible between the lugs.
The bi-directional acrylic dive bezel is in lovely condition with its tritium number and marker inserts glowing under UV light. Free from cracks but there are scratches.
The dial is the gem of the watch, deeply black and shines like the best black Gilt dials you'll see out there, of course original to the watch with sharp print, an overall superb dial, never seen a better one in a Squale from this era actually. The hands looks mint, almost like brand new and tritium is of course without cracks. High dome acrylic crystal, original to the watch.
Service history specifics are unknown. Runs great however and the automatic movement is measured within 10sec per 24h.
Sells head only.
