I am offering for sale this neo vintage Seiko quartz chronograph from the robust SUS series, inspired by the design of military or field watches and made in July 1995. The watch has obviously hardly been worn and, thus, remains in excellent condition. These models are JDM (Japan domestic market) watches and rarely appear outside their home market but if they do they are priced comparable to well-preserved pieces of the frequently encountered early analog quartz chronographs with 7A28 or 7A38 movements. Given an age of almost 30 years, this timepiece is just on the usual threshold of the “vintage” category, making it an ideal birth-year-gift for someone just about to turn this age.
Details:
► Brushed stainless steel case with beefy lugs and chronograph pushers positioned in a “bullhead” layout with very few signs of wear (there is only a very minor cut on the bezel at 4 o'clock)
► Creamy white dial with black-edged, slightly golden shimmering hour numerals and black minute track as well as black and white hands
► Finely graduated telemeter scale on the dial
► Seiko quartz movement 7T27 with flawless functions for hours, minutes, small second, stop minute, central stop second (the hand positions are already perfectly aligned, but can also be fine-tuned via the pushers, e.g. after a battery change) as well as 24-hour display and quick date adjustment, only the date switching during operation is somewhat faulty, as the date advances halfway but then jumps back to the original date (which, of course, can be manually corrected by turning the crown in its first position)
► Scratch-free original mineral glass
► Mounted on a matching single-layer Nato style strap (green with gold center stripe)
Dimensions:
► Diameter: approx. 36mm without crown and pushers (39mm with crown)
► Lug-to-lug: approx. 43mm
► Height: approx. 10mm
► Lug width: 18mm
Price: For this watch I am asking EUR 220,- plus international insured shipping according to destination.
Pictures:
The watch is located in Austria (EU) and so am I. I do have plenty of international references from various watch enthusiasts (also known here), so please feel free to ask for them.
Just for the records: I am a private collector and, therefore, the watch comes without any personal guarantee given by me. Nevertheless, I am offering to give a full refund less fully insured shipping expenses in case the piece sold would not be as described by me (within an inspection period of three days and to buyers from within the EU only due to the complex customs procedure in case of an overseas deal).
Thanks for reading and thanks to the Chronotrader platform and its host!
Kind regards,
F.Antl
