Rules: Postings must be an ad announcing an intent to sell, buy or trade. Full item description and photo(s) must be posted within the message here, not as links to other websites. Links to online auctions and other sites: Links to online auctions, dealer sites or other listings of items are permitted, but you should be careful to ensure that such listings will comply with our other ChronoTrader Policies. In addition, we request that sellers linking to online auctions or listings offer some benefit or accomodation to ChronoTrader readers (for example, some discount or an undertaking to end an auction early, to keep a watch "in the family"). Photos must be of the actual item for sale in its present condition. No counterfeit or replica products. No post for the same item may be repeated within 7 days, except to lower the asking price. Commercial dealers are limited to three unique posts per day. [More...]
I am offering for sale the following coherenty patinated tool watch classic from renowned Swiss brand Enicar, one of vintage collectors’ favourites: a Sherpa Guide with reference number 146/001 (known as the "Mk II" model generation, dating from around 1965). This powerful GMT has a distinctive city bezel, a red ring next to it and an internal 24-hour rotating bezel, which is operated via the upper crown.
Details:
► Beautiful Supercompressor case (made by EPSA = Ervin Piquerez SA) with bayonet locking, showing typical Enicar-style lugs in very good condition with some age-appropriate signs of wear you would expect from a well-used tool watch, but free of dents or impacts and with very clearly contoured edges
► Correct case back with Seapearl emblem, polished but with most of the embossing still intact (serial no. 704xxx)
► Obviously well-used and evenly aged city bezel and correct and intact orange-red rotating ring (with the triangular indicator typical of an Mk II), both currently stuck (I did not dare to tinker with it but for someone with the right skills and tools this should be an easy fix)
► Clean matte black dial with Enicar's distinctive Saturn logo, applied indices and complete luminous material, some of which has darkened with age and now only glows minimally, 24-hour rotating bezel with even patina appropriate for its age
► Original Mk II hand set with luminous material, correct thin GMT hand with colored tip
► Correct red date disc with open 6 and 9
► Original flat compressor crowns with Saturn logo (also correct for this model)
► Polished original acrylic crystal
► Last known service in 11/2015, the watch has hardly been worn ever since
► In-house automatic movement AR 1146, starts immediately and runs flawlessly, winds up smoothly and keeps time with a deviation of approx. 15s/d (laid down), the date changes accurately
► Mounted on an unworn, sturdy vintage-style leather strap (22/18 mm) and with a practical travel case made of Saffiano leather
► As a bonus, I am happy to provide a self-created STL file for 3D printing of a matching case opener so that the beautiful cover remains undamaged
Dimensions:
► Diameter: 43 mm without crowns
► Lug to lug: 53 mm
► Height: approx. 12 mm
► Lug width: 22 mm
Price:
I am asking EUR 1,450 for the watch with leather strap and travel case (this price already considers the stuck bezel) plus international insured shipping according to destination.
And now for the pictures:
The watch is located in Austria (EU) and so am I. I do have plenty of international references from various watch enthusiasts (also known here), so please feel free to ask for them.
Just for the records: I am a private collector and, therefore, the watch comes without any personal guarantee given by me. Nevertheless, I am offering to give a full refund less fully insured shipping expenses in case the piece sold would not be as described by me (within an inspection period of three days and to buyers from within the EU only due to the complex customs procedure in case of an overseas deal).
Thanks for reading and thanks to the Chronotrader platform and its host!
Kind regards,
F.Antl
