Dear All
For sale is this CWC G10 “Fatboy” Wristwatch c.1980
The Cabot Watch Company (CWC) was established in 1972 and supplied watches to the British military and various government organisations.
The “G10” General Service wristwatch was the first quartz watch supplied to the British military.
The “G10” was first issued in 1980 and is powered by the ESA 536.121 quartz movement. Around 165,000 were supplied to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) between 1980 and 2006.
The CWC G10 “Fatboy” wristwatch for sale is one of the first issued in 1980 and comes on its original NATO strap. The watch was purportedly discovered during a house clearance in the North of England and was found with various letters and paperwork. We can only assume this correspondence relates to the original owner of the watch or their immediate family.
