Dear All
For sale is this Record W.W.W. "Dirty Dozen" British Army Wristwatch c.1945.
As many of you may know these watches began being manufactured and issued to the British Army in early 1945. There were 12 Swiss manufacturers of the W.W.W. watches and as such, the collection is commonly referred to by collectors and dealers alike as “The Dirty Dozen”. Only around 25,000 Record W.W.W. watches were made for the British Army during WW2.
Interestingly, the wonderful example for sale is the later NATO dialled variant, which features the watch’s numerical stores reference number as opposed to the manufacturer’s name.
The watch for sale is in beautiful overall condition and is sold having been recently serviced by our highly skilled and experienced horologist.
The dial is in wonderful condition with no obvious flaws or blemishes.
The hands, seconds hand and crown are all correct to the original specification of the watch.
It is common to find the outer casing of these watches in a bad state of repair. However, the casing of the watch for sale is in remarkable condition with no obvious wear or tarnishing of the chrome plating.
The Record 022K calibre movement is in superb condition and is currently running well and keeping excellent time.
The watch diameter is 36mm.
Please see photos below:
The watch is listed for sale on our website, priced at £2,395, which includes a free six-month warranty and a newly fitted NATO strap.
