WTB: Autavia "Orange Boy" with white subdials

Hi All -

I know I'm new around here, but I've been reading the boards in great earnest for some time now, and am finally ready to take the plunge into the world of vintage Heuer chronographs. Like many people, I was initially attracted to Heuers by the Monaco, but realized after trying on a few at various dealers that the large tank case was not for me. However, I couldn't get the classic styling and unique colors out of my head, and the Heuer marquee has become a symbol I've aspired to wear.

When I learned of the Autavias through this board and a-p-e's site, I knew this was the watch for me. It combined the classic but somehow unconventional looks of the Monaco dial with the more wearable (for me, I mean) conventional shape and of course the legendary Heuer logo. I've tried on a few at vintage shops in my area, and I remain convinced that this is the watch I'll wear from now on.

With that in mind, I've been looking for a good (if not great) example of the "Orange Boy" model, with orange highlights, hands, and hour markers, and specifically with white subdials. I'm more concerned with a well-serviced and functional movement than I am with a flawless case, crystal, or bezel, and a bracelet is not necessary at all.

I know I may be looking for somewhat of a rarity (I honestly have no idea), but I'm asking those of you who may have one tucked away among other chronos in your watch drawer to consider whether it might be worth parting with if you know it will be proudly and happily worn on the wrist of a new inductee into the Heuer Chrono fan and owner's club.

If not, well, thanks anyway for the great information, excitement, and comraderie your posts throughout this forum bring daily!

-Alex
