FS: Thinning the Herd: Four Carrera 12 Datos; Pick One or Two

OK, let's try something new . . . thinning the herd, with this particular herd being the Carrera 12 Datos. At the moment I own five of these; I will keep the one in the center (Heuer, black dial, white registers); I would like to sell a couple of the others . . . maybe one; maybe two; maybe four . . . let's see who wants what, and what they might want to pay. I want to keep this casual . . . no eBay listings; no firm prices; no real auction; no firm deadlines . . . I'll put these four watches out for bids, and we'll see what happens. I am giving my estimates of the values of these four watches . . . feel free to make an offer, higher or lower . . . given the nature of this listing, I'll give it some time and we'll see what happens . . . no rush on my side; if you are in a rush, then make me a crazy high offer; otherwise, we'll give this a few days to see what the e-mail traffic will bring.

I can provide detailed descriptions and more photos of any of these that may be of interest; I have not timed them recently, but all are keeping decent time, with the chronographs operating properly.

So here are the watches, and the descriptions:

  1. Top Left (Heuer Carrara 12 Dato; fat lugs) . . . this was the first execution of the Carrera 12 Dato, from the days before the "Carrera" name . . . we have seen two of these in the years that I have been watching them . . . I put the value in the $3,500 range

  2. Top Right (Clebar version of the Carrera 12 Dato; fat lugs) . . . this is one of the classic "Poor Man's" Heuers . . . identical to the Heuer, except for the name on the dial (and bridge, I believe) . . . value in the $2,000 range

  3. Bottom Left (Zodiac version of the Carrera 12 Dato; panda colors) . . . in the years that I have been watching the Heuer chronographs, I have seen exactly one Heuer Carrera 12 Dato, in the panda colors (black registers on the white dial), and exactly one of the Zodiacs . . . and this is it . . . recently serviced . . . value in the $3,000 range, for this super rare one

  4. Bottom Right (Clebar version of the Carrera 12 Dato; black dial, with white registers) . . . I sold my first 2547N Carrera 12 Dato around five years ago, and have been very happy with this Clebar ever since . . . then, a few weeks ago, I found the Heuer version, so I will let this one go . . . like the white Clebar, this one seems identical to the Heuer, except for the name on the dial . . . same case; same dial; same hands; only difference is the name . . . value in the $2,500 range.

So there we have it . . . four chronographs; three brands; four prices, from $2,000, to $2,500, to $3,000 to $3,500 . . . let me know if you want one of these (or two or four), or if you would like to have more information about any of them.
