Thanks Marius and also thanks to eveyone as you stated that have given us so many resources as you listed. I look forward to getting this watch on my wrist one day looking the way it should. You definitely picked a nice band to go with your watch. I did email Jarl earlier after finding his website online. Waiting for his response as well. Still wondering why someone would have replaced the original hands with blue ones though. Strange since they seem to match the style of your watch.
Good day,
Ron
: No problem Ron,I`m only glad to be of any help.
: The strap I got it on in the pictures is not the original one, they
: originally came with the choice of a tropic style rubber
: strap,or an flat link oyster style bracelet on the early
: models/jubilee bracelet on later models
: I bought a couple of the tropics from Bill (Squinky),very nice and
: correctly looking in my opinion.
: The first Heuer divers were made in 78-79(?),these are often
: referred to as the Monnin series, check out Jarls excellent piece
: on his blog.
: (Jarl dates them to 79-80,but since there is an entry of regular
: production series divers in the french 79 catalogue,I suspect
: the Monnin series pre-dates them with at least a year.)

: For reference you should definetely check out Jeffs scans of the
: old Heuer catalogues, there are some very good pics of the divers
: there.
: Especially the 1977-82 catalogues.

: These scans are an invaluable source of information, and I would
: like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who has
: contributed in making them available to us,great piece of work
: guys!
: cheers
