Rules: Postings must be an ad announcing an intent to sell, buy or trade. Full item description and photo(s) must be posted within the message here, not as links to other websites. Links to online auctions and other sites: Links to online auctions, dealer sites or other listings of items are permitted, but you should be careful to ensure that such listings will comply with our other ChronoTrader Policies. In addition, we request that sellers linking to online auctions or listings offer some benefit or accomodation to ChronoTrader readers (for example, some discount or an undertaking to end an auction early, to keep a watch "in the family"). Photos must be of the actual item for sale in its present condition. No counterfeit or replica products. No post for the same item may be repeated within 7 days, except to lower the asking price. Commercial dealers are limited to three unique posts per day. [More...]
RARE TRANSITIONAL 41x44x13mm HEUER "PASADENA" AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH W/ DAY/DATE ca 1981. This watch was a "bridge model" between the old Heuer company and the new Tag Heuer company. Heuer was in deep trouble during the late 70's and was attempting to salvage the company by re-intoducing their popular lines like the Montreal and the Pasadena models. They used Lemania 5100 and Valjoux 7750 movements in these watches. These watches are actually much more scarce than their Cal 11 and Cal 12 counterparts that were introduced in the early 70's. They have skyrocketed in value of late as have all early Heuer chronographs- PRE TAG. This one is in Nawcc Extra Fine condition- it has the black matte PVD Coating and the coating is still very nice. No chips- only light fading of the finish but it is all uniform. The watch is TRIPLE SIGNED- DIAL, MOVEMENT AND CASE. As with all these transitional models, some had signed crowns and some did not. Some had signed bracelets and some did not. And, some were hybrids- using old Heuer stock and new Tag Heuer stock. This one has a signed 17 jewel, HEUER (VALJOUX 7750) Chronograph movement with both day and date and with both HACKSET AND QUICKSET DATE. The movement is clean and running well. The case is signed: Heuer on the inside caseback. The outer caseback is stainless steel while the rest of the case is s/s with black PVD finish. I have outfitted the watch with a brand new set of black padded straps which match the case and coming with s/s buckle. They look nice on the watch. The MINERAL GLASS CRYSTAL is original and has some very fine scratches but no chips and is too nice to replace but you could. I have taken digital images of the head, face, as well as the movement and case. VERY COLLECTIBLE TRANSITIONAL HEUER PASADENA AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH. (NOTE- I WILL INCLUDE THE ORIGINAL BLACK PVD BRACELET WHICH WILL NEED TO HAVE THE ENAMEL COATING REAPPLIED TO USE WITH THE WATCH).
