Re: FS: Vintage Heuer Monaco Tribute/Project for your consid

Wow i have never seen a Monaco like this before, it's a new re-dial for me!

Kind of a mix between a 1533G and a 74033 and a 73633!

I'm sorry that you found it was not what you thought but i'm gald you enjoyed it whilst you owned it, maybe someone else will in the future?

Good luck with your sale

: I bought this vintage Heuer Monaco many years ago (before On The
: Dash was an online reference) and have enjoyed using it
: sparingly since. I recently decided to sell the watch but was
: surprised/disappointed to find out, after some web research,
: that this watch does not match up with any of the known accepted
: models. As I don’t know its complete history I will try to
: fairly describe it, and sell it for what it is, a modified Heuer
: Monaco.

: The case is very clean and sharp. There are very few signs of any
: significant wear or use and the edges remain sharp as you could
: imagine they would have been back when it was first produced in
: the 70's. The upper case has the model number 73633 still
: clearly marked between the lower lugs & and serial number
: 164xxx between the upper lugs. The lower case has Tool No.033
: & the Heuer symbol clearly marked on the case.

: The crown is marked Heuer and the chrono pushers are
: "fluted". After I could not match this watch to any of
: the known models at On The Dash I had it opened by my
: watchmaker who opened it up and informed me that it has a Heuer
: Valjoux 7734 in place instead of the 7736 that should be there.
: That is why there are 2 registers and a date window instead of
: the 3 registers normally seen with this model.

: The dial is clean and bright with an amazing silver grained
: metallic finish running from top to bottom. The hands look very
: similar, but not exact to the ones from the OTD reference
: photos. The watch winds, holds time well, chrono function
: starts/stops/resets flawlessly. Clear, fresh crystal allows
: great view to a very handsome and impressive (but repainted)
: dial. I see this as a great chance for someone to step in and
: cheaply own a legendary watch. Buyer should now be aware this
: watch is not complete and correct as it would have left the
: Heuer factory but has been described as fairly and honestly as
: is possible. I have provided a link to my detailed photos as
: they best represent the watch on offer.

: My buy it now price is US$3000 + postage or I will hear sensible
: offers in that price range
