Tough decision this, but here we go..
Here we have a great condition 2nd Gen 15640 Skipper.. (same case as 11630). 1978-82 Cal. 15.
Seen here on my blog: http://heuerville.wordpress.com/2012/09/14/heuer-skipper-15640-2nd-gen/
Stunning black gloss dial, with light creamy lume patina, original hands and lume, original insert and lume dot. it’s had a new mineral glass fitted, so that is flawless.
The only thing that I can think of is a dent to the lower corner of the 2 o’clock lug – obviously not visible at all when wearing! Apart from that, this is a stunning example.
The case has been refinished by TAG Heuer prior to me buying it, so is in great condition, with a few micro marks on the sides, but nothing a light polish wouldn’t sort out.
Apart from that, it is in superb shape, and I’m only selling as I have the ‘11063’ cased version, that I tend to wear more often. It really is beautiful, but I’m mindful of Jeff’s thinking – ‘If you haven’t worn it for a many months, may as well sell it” (or something like that.. so hopefully someone else can enjoy this lovely example instead of it being stuck in my watch box.
Allegedly serviced by the previous owner a couple of years ago, but no paperwork – it id keep good time and all works as it should.
Head only –, actually, I can throw in a new black leather strap for the new owner. :0)
Please note - the close up dial shot give a true representation of the creamy lume colour - it looks rather white in the other pics, I apologise for that!
£1650 ono inc. delivery.
I may request references if you're not a regular!
lug showing the dent...
another shot of the dented lug - as you can see, not that visible..
Thanks
Stewart
