For sale is my Heuer Camaro 7743NT, black dialled bi-compax chronograph utilising the manual wind Val 7730 movement.
The watch is in very nice, original condition.
The case measures 38mm excluding crown and 44mm lug to lug and wears beautifully, being only 10mm thick including the lovely raised plexi. The case still retains a starburst finish to the front but has some light scratches and a few small nicks as you would expect from a 40 year old watch but no nasty dings or gouges.The case is engraved with a clearly visible 7743 between one set of lugs and it's serial number starting 169... between the other. I think the serial number dates it to around 1972, but stand to be corrected.
The dial is in excellent condition with slightly recessed sub dials that have an outer gloss ring around a textured concentric circle pattern. The indices are raised chrome and there is a Tachymetre scale around the outer edge of the dial. The dial is marked T-Swiss.The hands have the original Tritium intact.
The Plexi is in excellent condition with no deep scratches, gouges or stress fractures.
The watch has fluted chrono pushers and an unsigned crown. I have been told that some did have unsigned crowns but, again, I stand to be corrected. It certainly looks original to the watch. The colour/wear is very in keeping with the rest of the watch
The movement is very clean and is engraved with Heuer Leonidas SA and 7730. The inside of the screw-in case back is also engraved with Heuer Leonidas SA.
Time keeping is excellent and the chronograph also works well with a very crisp action from the pushers. The only issue is that the main (seconds) chrono hand resets to the left edge of the 12 indice.
The watch comes on a brand new Hirsch Rally in black leather.
