Up for sale is this rare and super cool neo-vintage 1990s Bell & Ross by Sinn M1/156 military-style chronograph with the redoubtable & discontinued Lemania 5100 engine. This rare co-branded example comes from the era when B&R were just starting out and took over some of Sinn’s soon-to-be obsolete models to begin their enterprise. This great B&R/Sinn was sent by its original owner to Sinn in Germany for an overhaul last September and comes with the service papers and inner & outer Bell & Ross box set. Additionally, my NYC Master Watchmaker corrected a stuttering sweep seconds hand since I didn’t want to send it all the way back to Germany for that, so it is really doubly serviced and ready for years more of use by its new owner! It comes with my own 6-month movement guarantee for normal non-abusive use in the unlikely event of an issue; or if you want to send it back to Germany, it’s probably still under warranty. This great chrono features its original Tritium dial and comes on a brand new Sinn leather strap with signed steel buckle. It is easily in overall Excellent+ condition.

CASE & BACK: Large 44 x 53mm all-stainless steel case in Excellent+ condition with minimal marks, having been lightly polished and rebrushed at the Sinn service (I assume). Stainless steel back held in place by 4 grub screws has some light marks on the outside but shows no polish and is in Excellent external cosmetic condition.

BEZEL: A brand new black anodized aluminum rotating elapsed time bezel was installed at the service and it is Mint with no loss of black paint (there is some waxy debris in the serrations in one of the photos but that was easily removed). The bezel rotates smoothly in both directions with finger pressure as designed.

DIAL & HANDS: Original and beautiful matte black dial in Near Mint to Mint condition with only one tiny rub on the constant seconds counter. It features: a finely printed minute/seconds track; engine turned subdials for constant seconds, elapsed minutes and hours & 24-hour indicator; original Tritium luminous Arabic numerals with wonderful patina; apertures for the day & date; and the cool co-branded names of the manufacturers. The all-luminous hour & minute hands are Mint with very few signs of age and the neon orange-tipped chrono sweep seconds and “jet” minute counter are bright and likewise Mint, as are all the subregister hands.

MOVEMENT: This great B&R/Sinn features the WIS-favorite Lemania 5100 automatic chronograph movement. As stated above, this classic multi-function analog movement, no longer manufactured by Lemania, was serviced by Sinn in September of last year and then further tuned up by my watchmaker. It is good to go for years more of use with all functions operating crisply and correctly and everything resetting properly to “zero”. Comes with my own 6-month movement warranty or you can take up any issues you won’t likely have with Sinn themselves. ;)

CROWN & PUSHERS: New Sinn screw down crown was installed at service and the pushers looks very clean, as well. The pusher operation is very firm and the reset very crisp and the crown screws down tightly and pulls out to the winding, hack time setting and day and date quickset positions as designed.

CRYSTAL: Large low domed acrylic crystal has been polished and is now in Excellent condition with only some minor marks and superficial scratches.

BAND: This great B&R by Sinn chrono comes on a brand new and unworn black leather Sinn strap with white stitching and signed steel Sinn tang buckle. This large chronograph takes 20mm straps.

EXTRAS: This watch comes with Bell & Ross inner and outer boxes and an original 3-page service invoice from Sinn in Frankfurt dated 9/25/2012 that details all the work done to the watch by them including new gaskets, crown, movement overhaul and new bezel.

Despite the fact that the watch was tested by Sinn for water resistance and passed, I personally make absolutely NO guarantees for that aspect of the watch. Please take it to your watchmaker and have him test it again before engaging in any wet work. :)

This rare B&R/Sinn chronograph is offered with a 3-day inspection period from the date of receipt and may be returned for a full refund (less any shipping costs incurred by the buyer). This refund is unconditional and once I get the watch back in exactly the same condition as it was sent to you, your money will be refunded.
