For your consideration is an extremely presentable, beautifully functioning Heuer 1163 "Siffert" Autavia. As you know, these are rare and becoming more desirable all the time.
The Caliber 11 movement in this watch is in great shape, with excellent timekeeping. All chronograph functions are in working order, with a positive action to the pushers, the dramatic jumping minute and hour display working as they should and a crisp and precise reset to zero. The case shows minor wear, but no trace of having been polished, a definite plus for the collector. The dial is in nice original condition, with a creamy patina that adds to the beauty of this piece. This dial is the "Mark 6" variant, meaning that it has 12 individual numbers on the hour counter. This is much rarer than the more common 4-number hour counter and makes the watch more effective as a chronograph. This Autavia sports a NOS crystal, bought in the original Heuer glassine envelope. As i'm sure you know, this alone is an extremely challenging part to find. The bezel on this watch is extremely nice, with an excellent original insert. The crown is signed and the fluted pushers are there, equipped with new gaskets. This Siffert sits on a 20mm Rally Tropic strap, that is in NOS condition. The Tropic was an original option for the Autavia and a prized collectible in it's own right. The price is $5,500 for this watch. Feel free to contact me with any questions about the watch. It is a real stunner and an honest and unmolested piece.
Best Regards,
Jed
