Hi all
Based in the UK, i have for sale my very nice condition, Heuer Camaro 7220 NT.
Its the grey/slate dial variation with the subtle yet very attractive orange indices/additions to the dial.
Its keeping good time, with it last having a service roughly three years ago, it comes with a nice rally style strap, as well as an appropriate metal record bracelet (not Heuer).
The case is in very good condition, as is the dial and hands, there is very light patina, but it is far from obvious and the watch actually looks near new.
It houses a very nice condition valjoux 72, all functions work as they should, without any sticking or lag.
I'm looking for a straight cash deal on this one, at £2250.
Here is a little history on the camaro range:
The Heuer Camaro was Heuer's third model line after the Autavia and Carrera. Jack W Heuer was very keen to grow his business in America and was looking for synergies to communicate Heuer's core competencies in the production of stopwatches, fine chronographs as well as timing devices for race events like Sebring. A new trend had hit the motor industry in the US called 'Muscle Cars' and the idea was to put powerful high displacement engines in light midsize cars. These were very well perceived by young buyers and even the smaller Pony Cars like the Ford Mustang first launched in 1964 were enormously successful. Chevrolet reacted quickly and developed the Camaro for this new segment. From 1967 to 1969 the Chevrolet Camaro was elected the Indianapolis 500 pace car which received a lot of press coverage and the name Camaro was a good fit for the new Heuer chronograph launched in 1968.
The watch had a newly designed cushion shaped case and was powered by a manual wind Valjoux movement. The ultimate drivers Camaro is the reference 7220 NT. 72 stands for the Valjoux 72 movement, N for Noir black and T for the tachymeter tension ring at the edge of the dial. The matt black dial has a three dimensional look and has recessed sub registers with angled polished sides and concentric ridges.
