Rules: Postings must be an ad announcing an intent to sell, buy or trade. Full item description and photo(s) must be posted within the message here, not as links to other websites. Links to online auctions and other sites: Links to online auctions, dealer sites or other listings of items are permitted, but you should be careful to ensure that such listings will comply with our other ChronoTrader Policies. In addition, we request that sellers linking to online auctions or listings offer some benefit or accomodation to ChronoTrader readers (for example, some discount or an undertaking to end an auction early, to keep a watch "in the family"). Photos must be of the actual item for sale in its present condition. No counterfeit or replica products. No post for the same item may be repeated within 7 days, except to lower the asking price. Commercial dealers are limited to three unique posts per day. [More...]
Offering a seldom seen all original early, 20th century Rose Watch Co trench watch. Both case and movement are signed RoseWCo, which is uncommon, as most of their early watches were cased in US made cases. Sterling Silver hinged case is marked , Sterling Silver, .935, RoseWCo, Swiss, 7519 A, along with various watchmakers marks. Case and shrapnel guard are in very good shape with no dings or dents. Movement is marked 15JLS-3ADJ, ROSEWCo, SWISS. Movement is very clean and runs, but service history is unknown. Comes on an old brown leather strap that I think compliments the watch well.
A little bit of history:
In 1912 Charles-Auguste and Jules-Edouard at the urging of their American partner Henry Freund (New York City Jeweler & Importer) decided to use the trade name "ROSE WATCH COMPANY" on all watch movements imported into the USA. In 1922, Heuer stopped producing the "Rose" watch brand. So, for approximately 10 years the Ed Heuer & Co. used the name Rose Watch Co. on all the watches sold in the U.S.A. So when you see a early watch with the movement signed "ROSE W. Co." it was manufactured by Ed Heuer & Co.
Price is $449 shipped in the US.
Will ship International for an additional $30.
Paypal preferred but will consider other payment methods.
