For sale is my stunning Cal 15 1563T ‘Albino’ from 1972.
This watch has the ‘fat boy’ case.. ie. It’s thicker than the standard case you get on the Viceroy model – it’s the same case you get on the Siffert and Orange Boy Autavias. It is also marked 1563 between the lugs, many were marked 1163 (borrowing the case from the Cal 11/12 models).
It is also the very same watch that is in the Autavia book – although it has an orange handset in the book.
The watch has undergone a sympathetic restoration. The case is untouched, super sharp and to my eye looks never to have been polished. There are some light marks of the case, but I’d rather have these and it be untouched. It was relumed to a nice patina to match the sun-bleached look of the dial.
When I bought the watch it had a handset from a Heuer Calculator. I decided to swap these out for genuine white Autavia hands, as the orange accents on the dial had all but faded to white. I had a correct NOS Autavia crystal fitted (this was like finding hens teeth!), and a near NOS bezel insert, which has a subtly faded matt finish.
The watch is all running as it should and the chrono runs and resets perfectly.
With its nicely sun bleached dial, white hands and matt faded bezel, it has a really nice vintage, almost military look.
I’m selling it head only, will thrown in a nice leather strap with it.
Heuer price guide has it at approx. £2500-3250.
Looking for around £2750.
Please don't be offended if I seek a reference if I don't know you!
Thanks
Stewart
