FS: WWII Military issued Elgin Canteen diver pakerized case

On sale also, is from my private collection, a rather difficult to find in all original state, and excellent condition, is a watch made from the WWII period, a diver watch made for the Naval frogmen.

This is the watch that started the "canteen" screw cap to prevent moisture/ dust and most importantly, water. The movement condition is evident that this system, though primitive, works. The movement looks perfect though I have no knowledge on the service history. But keeps great time and no issue at all.

Every part of the watch is original to the lead soldered crystal. The case looks grayish due to the pakerized treatment to improve on the steel resistance to corrosion. What a well designed watch.

The dial has its hidden signature in black, that reads "ELGIN, and USN BUSHIPS", an interesting feature of the watch.
