Our watchstraps are all hand sewn using classic stitching techniques such as saddle stitching. The edges of our straps are hand painted, burnished, polished, and buffed. The leather of our loops is measured, cut, glued, hammered, and “forked” by hand before being sewed with a practiced hand. The Iconic Pieces logo is sealed on the inside of the straps as a guarantee for superior quality. Hand stitching requires far more time than machine stitching, however you gain character and strength with each stitch. A sewing-machine stitch will absolutely unravel if a single thread is broken; this is not the case with a hand-sewn saddle stitch. Many companies use the term "handmade", however they still use machines to complete edges, stitch and cut. Each single step of our production process is done with two hands using only a small selection of hand tools. We do not use machinery to boost production because we tend to believe what "handmade" ought to mean.
