Hello,
I have for sale a pretty unique piece that I believe some of you on here may be interested in. If you recall, last year Hodinkee ran an article about shopping for vintage pieces at Cool Vintage Watches in Parkville, MO in which a story was told about how President Obama stopped in to talk with the owner, during which time he became enamored by a Rolex Bubbleback and tried it on. I am selling that very same watch for a good friend of mine. The watch came to his possession from a good friend of his who purchased it from John (the owner of the store), now I'm selling it for him. I'm no expert on the Bubblebacks, but it is running and appears to be keeping relatively good time in the limited time that I've had it in my possession. I'm unsure of value as this is certainly not in my typical wheelhouse, but he's looking for offers at or above $5k. This is a nice opportunity to own a piece with a little bit of historical significance and should appeal to Rolex fans, vintage collectors, and also those looking for something to tie their watch to a celebrity.
