Harlem Manual Chronograph 1967 (Carrera Style) £850 free shipping + Chronotrader discount.
The Harlem watch company was around in the US from the late 1800’s producing pocket watches for the large US market. As with lots of Swiss companies the prize was the opportunities of the new world. I have seen Harlem watches in chronograph model from the middle 50’s onwards and I think it was a brand revived post war….
This watch hails from the classic 60’s time of classy technical pieces.. a time of V8s and drag racing… when any self respecting driver wore a chronograph. Inspired by race cars watches like this one sported batton hands… scored silver burst dials (incabloc and TSwissT) and solidly constructed. Using a 45 minute Landeron 248 manual wind movement and a high dome acrylic crystal this is a very cool classy watch.
The case is 36mm x 42mm x 13mm approx in size and is made of solid stainless steel. Think Daytona Raceway and something designed by Shelby and you have the idea.
Vintage leather strap matches its look as does the Linen 60’s style box the watch comes in…
The watch has been serviced and carries a 3 month mechanical warranty. Due to their age and the original use of these watches there are minor marks to be found on the cases which add to their vintage look without detracting from the quality.
