Please see our ChronoTrader Policies and Terms of Use. | Learn more about How To Include Photos In Your Postings. |
Rules: Postings must be an ad announcing an intent to sell, buy or trade. Full item description and photo(s) must be posted within the message here, not as links to other websites. Links to online auctions and other sites: Links to online auctions, dealer sites or other listings of items are permitted, but you should be careful to ensure that such listings will comply with our other ChronoTrader Policies. In addition, we request that sellers linking to online auctions or listings offer some benefit or accomodation to ChronoTrader readers (for example, some discount or an undertaking to end an auction early, to keep a watch "in the family"). Photos must be of the actual item for sale in its present condition. No counterfeit or replica products. No post for the same item may be repeated within 7 days, except to lower the asking price. Commercial dealers are limited to three unique posts per day. [More...]
Being offered for sale is an extraordinary example of the iconic ref. 1675 Rolex GMT Master (1.7M Serial #) complete with the box, chronometer certificate, book, and a plethora of service documentation.
Please note that the serial number between the lugs has appears to have worn off during the life of the watch. The original owner wore it on a type of strap that wore into the case over the years. The movement number on the original chronometer certificate matches the movement inside the watch and there is also a service invoice from 1980 mentioning the serial number on the case was unreadable. The name of the original owner appears on all of the invoices and correspondence. He kept every piece of service documentation including a letter to Rolex with specific service instructions. The original owner has done a tremendous job preserving the originality of the watch and documenting its service history.
Details:
Dial: The original MK1 dial is in great condition with no noticeable damage. The dial and lume plots are 100% untouched. The dial and hands still faintly glow which is correct for this time period. There are a bit of flakes/dust on the dial, which came from the broken lume from the minute hand. These flakes can be easily dusted/cleaned off by a watchmaker. Any other sorts of blemishes that may appear in the photos are scratches or lint on the crystal and not on the actual dial.
Case: Previously polished stainless steel case is good condition with normal wear from use. The slightly faded original fuchsia insert is beautiful.
Additional: The watch comes with the original outer box, inner box, chronometer certificate, book, and service invoices.
Asking $8,450 by wire (or check deposited to my account) shipped and insured within the US or face to face in the Los Angeles area. International shipping available at an additional cost.
Returns only accepted within 3 days of receipt if item is not as described and is returned in the same exact condition as it was originally sold. Refunds will be considered upon a full inspection and will amount to the purchase price minus shipping and handling costs. Buyer is responsible for the return postage, insurance, and safe delivery of the watch back to me. Due to the complexity of shipping to the US from abroad, all international sales are final.
Worldwide references can be provided upon request. I am an independent watch collector and I am not affiliated with any brand in any way.
Feel free to send me an email at kevin@uberz.net or call/text with any questions (626) 404-8842. International buyers can message me on What's App at the same phone number (+1 country code).
Thanks,
Kevin Acuna
