Rules: Postings must be an ad announcing an intent to sell, buy or trade. Full item description and photo(s) must be posted within the message here, not as links to other websites. Links to online auctions and other sites: Links to online auctions, dealer sites or other listings of items are permitted, but you should be careful to ensure that such listings will comply with our other ChronoTrader Policies. In addition, we request that sellers linking to online auctions or listings offer some benefit or accomodation to ChronoTrader readers (for example, some discount or an undertaking to end an auction early, to keep a watch "in the family"). Photos must be of the actual item for sale in its present condition. No counterfeit or replica products. No post for the same item may be repeated within 7 days, except to lower the asking price. Commercial dealers are limited to three unique posts per day. [More...]
Two more watches from my personal collection. The original 1970s military divers and aviators watch that many others have tried to copy. With one of the most stunning, austere dials, this version is known as the Benrus Type I model. Used by forces from the Navy Seals to the CIA. Flew to 35,000ft and dove to 1000m. Extremely difficult to find like this with pristine dials and near-perfect bezels. If you’ve been waiting for an excellent example to come along, here’s your chance to pick from two: One is a 1974 and one is a 1976.
Cases have original non-reflective military finishes and no signs of polishing. No crazing or cracks on the crystals. Fixed military lug bars intact. Both watches are running, timing and hacking as they should, but have been stored away in the safe for years. So, if to be worn everyday, you should service the watch you buy.
Condition notes: The ’76 (on left in duo pics) has lume that is tan and the ’74 lume is green; '74 watch glows brightly. The 1976 has a few small nicks on the edge of the case below the crown, between 4-5 o’clock, shown in the side profile pic. The crown on the 1976 is identical to all original crowns I’ve seen on these watches, but it does not have a hash mark as they usually do. Plenty of pictures follow. If you need other angles or details, just email me at billmahoney@aol.com
Prices: The 1976 is $2,250 and the 1974 is $2,450. Deal includes $125 worth of bands and free U.S. shipping with insurance.
Straps: One leather Aviator pilot's band and two nylon NATO straps of the buyer's choice from Squinky.com are included, a $125 value.
Payment: By personal check, bank transfer or money order. No Paypal accepted on these watches. No international shipping.
I have many references here since this site first began and on EBAY since 1998.
Thanks - Bill Mahoney (aka Squinky)
