Rules: Postings must be an ad announcing an intent to sell, buy or trade. Full item description and photo(s) must be posted within the message here, not as links to other websites. Links to online auctions and other sites: Links to online auctions, dealer sites or other listings of items are permitted, but you should be careful to ensure that such listings will comply with our other ChronoTrader Policies. FS: Heuer Autavia "Villeneuve," ref 73663 (Svcd, Original Strap)

This will be my final sales post before consigning this to a dealer. I'm lowering the price to reflect what I would likely be able to net from a dealer, so if you're interested, don't wait. I need to recoup costs from multiple #incomings, hence my big price drop / impatience.

This is a beautiful example of a highly coveted 1970's Autavia reference (one of the rarest observed dial variations), and this particular watch was featured in TAG Heuer's "Museum in Motion" exhibition in Miami this winter. Condition report below:

Case / Crown: Case is in great shape and still sports its original sunburst finish complemented by the sharp faceted edges running along the case. Caseback is in great condition. Crown is original. Overall, a beautiful example of an unpolished 1970's Autavia.

Dial / Handset: Perfect, highly desirable dial with creamy patina and all plots in perfect condition (as well as the white paint stripes on top of the applied markers). The hands have aged to a slightly different shade, but the orange coloring remains vibrant. The orange scale on the minute counter has a pleasant fade to it. Overall, a very well preserved dial and handset.

Movement / Functionality: The Villeneuve Autavia is powered by a Valjoux 7736 and was recently serviced by Chronodeco (a Heuer specialist and my favorite watchmaker). All functions work perfectly and the watch keeps perfect time. I no longer open watches for pictures unless absolutely necessary, but I stand behind the movement condition and performance. The watch is also covered under warranty for one year.

Strap: I was able to uncover this watch with its original leather rally strap and Heuer buckle (a very rare occurrence). The strap is in terrific condition and complements the watch perfectly.

My price is $9,500 with payment via PayPal (friends and family or add 3%) or direct bank wire. US sale preferred, international sales will pay the cost of shipping. Face-to-face in Chicago is also welcome for local buyers. Finally, I have plenty of references available as a buyer and seller that I can provide if necessary.
