This IS NOT A POCKET WATCH RECASE! This antique Rolex was created by Rolex Marconi in 1943 after the Rolex Rolex brand created the iconic ref. 4113 which recently sold for $2.9 million. Both wrist watches measure 45mm across however this Marconi version is 13mm tall as opposed to 11mm. This is because this watch has been RE CASED and is not the original. Other than that the watch is completely original. The dial and hands are original as well as every aspect of the movement. I've gone to several jewelers and have done my research and discovered this watch is one of the rarest watches the world has to offer. It uses the correct Valjoux 55 movement and is properly signed Rolex on the movement as seen in the pictures. Additionally I had a watchmaker remove the movement to find it is also signed Rolex on the base plate. The only aspect distinguishing this Watch from the $2.9 million version is the recondition the case, the Marconi dial, and the fact it is a mono pusher rather than dual pusher chronograph. The chronograph feature works perfectly. There is a lot more to be said about this piece of history.
One more note, this exact Rolex Marconi sold in an auction in London in the late 90s for 94,000 pounds. Not sure what the conversion rate was then.
