FS: Rare Yema Yachtingraf Régate 850737 vintage chronograph 197

This watch was designed as a specific tool watch for sailboat regattas, to precisely count down the 10 minutes from the warning pistol to the beginning of the race. The modified and colourful right hand sundial tracks the 10 minute countdown to the starters gun. There were several iterations of this model issued, and this is the 6th in a series of 7 with the red, white, and blue apertures, and the white sailboat at the 6 o'clock position.

This is the only model among the Yachtingraf series with crown guards, and its been reported on-line that only around 25 of these are known to exist, so its not a common watch by any means. The movement inside is a modified Valjoux 7735 (called the Valjoux 7735S) which drives the regatta countdown function. There is no question that this is an amazing and rare watch for the Yema collector, vintage watch collector, sailor, or anyone that wants a real conversation starter.

The watch presents in excellent unpolished condition, on the original Yema steel bracelet (which has been lightly polished). The watch has been fully surviced and comes with a 1 year guarantee from me/my watchmaker on mechanical problems (which the usual exclusion on wilful damage, abuse, etc)

There is a nice write-up of the various Yema Yachting models here https://www.heuerchrono.com/other-brands-vintage/yema-yachtingraf/

and one of the known 25 is for sale here https://www.watchmaster.com/en/yema/yachtingraf/850737/YOAR9KHVW2?reference_code=U581TCIGPG

Asking £6500 plus shipping, Payment due via bank transfer. References available from this site (search my username)

Its a shame to be selling this watch as I really love it, but needs must, and other grails to hunt.

More photos on request.
