FS: Dodane Type 21 French Military Pilot chrono £3500

I'm trimming down my collection a bit to put some cash into our home renovation. This watch is from my personal collection so was purchased, serviced, and treated and loved as my own.

The watch was fully serviced in September 2015 and is in excellent cosmetic condition, and worn only a handful of times since. Its restoration was featured here on this repair blog https//thewatchspotblog.com/?tag=dodane

The dial lume is in stunning original condition, far better than the type 21s I've seen offered elsewhere. Inside the case is a Valjoux cal. 235 which is effectively a Valjoux cal. 23, modified to increase the beat rate from 18,000 to 21,600 bph and to include a flyback lever. The bezel numbers arguably should not be black, but I preferred them filled and so they were darkened using shoe polish (an old trick). Easily removed if you prefer the numbers bare. As with any military-issued watch in France, this Type 21 bears specific military markings on the caseback, indicating when it would need to undergo servicing again ("F.G." stands for “Fin de Garantie,” or end of guarantee).
