FS: Vintage Titus Calypsomatic Glossy dial

Hi CT,

Here for sale I have a beautiful Titus Calypsomatic for your consideration.

The Titus Calpysomatic was firstly introduced in the early 1960’s and its production lasted until the early 1970’s. Due to the increasing demand of dive watches in that time, companies developed some of the best dive watches of all history.

It is well known that the most sought after pieces are the references 5913, 7985/6 and 7986. But this particular reference, the 3552, doesn’t fall behind.

It is believed that this reference was one of the last in production, and this watches were built from every stock the company had before they closed down. The majority of 3552’s came with a black matte dial, but this particular piece still has the glossy ‘gilt’ charm every other reference has.

It still maintains the big, thick crown -that gives this watch the whole utilitarian look-.

The tritium on this piece is in nice condition, most likely relumed some time ago (it still glows). There’s fading at the 12 and 6 seconds markings.

The dial is completely original and, in my opinion, beautiful. At 3, we find the cyclops zooming in the ‘roulette date’ disk (having one number in black and one in red, consecutively).

The bezel, as well original, rotates in both directions.

Although this is a diving watch, it hasn’t been pressured tested -so we don’t recommend going in the water with it, and if you do, do it at your own risk-.

Having said that, this watch offers the sports watch-aficionado true value, coming at just over 2000€, a full of history dive watch with all the vintage features we are all looking for.
