I've decided to make some more room in my watch box so I've decided to sell my mint condition early (thick case) edition Heuer Professional Diver 980.026 that I purchased from Tag1000Diver some time back.
The watch is in near flawless condition especially considering it's age. It has a matte PVD coating that is also in near flawless condition. Please see the photos and consider them before bidding or purchasing.
It has a stunning dial and hands with a lovely creamy patina on the lume. This watch is in very nice condition which is hard to find as most were used as tool watches which wore down the coating. This model is near new old stock with only storage wear present from its hibernation,
Honestly it's become incredibly rare to find these watches in this condition and it's an incredible example of a 980.026 Heuer professional diver.
This is a very early thick case version. The later versions (L and N, Heuer and Tag Heuers) got noticeably thinner than this version. The thickness of this watch definitely adds to the presence on the wrist that the later models can’t replicate.
Model number 980.026
» 38mm WITHOUT crown and crown guards (Vintage Men's Size)
» 40mm with crown
» The watch case and its plating are in great condition for its age with little more than storage wear. Other than that it is new old stock.
» The crystal is in excellent condition with no visible wear.
» The bezel insert is original and in extremely good condition.
» The caseback gasket is new. I don't swim in my vintage watches so a pressure test would be recommended if you intend on submerging the watch.
» The battery has been replaced with a new Swiss made Renata battery which should be good for 2+ years.
» The movement is running well though the service history is unknown.
» The bracelet is in just as nice of condition as the rest of the watch. It should fit up to a 7.50” wrist.
» The crown was upgraded to a screw-in style crown for better water resistance. The original (mint condition) crown will be included in the sale.
» No box / No manual / No paperwork is included with this watch.
I have it on sale on ebay for $2250 but will accept $1850 via paypal or venmo and I will ship it out the next day USPS insured for the full purchase price!
I've been an ebay memeber since 2001 and I have 325 star transactions and 100% feedback rating!
I am open to trades for interesting omegas or heuers. I'm a big fan of the Lemania 5100 powered heuers (510 series) and Omega (4.5)
