FS: Miltary Tissot Navigator 817 $5500

I hunted one of these for years, and as much as I love it, I don't wear it. To my knowledge, this is the only example currently for sale; I've seen I think 3 come up in a decade.

CASE: 40mm case is in good, honest shape. I don't know if it's been polished; the bevels aren't sharp, but they're still distinct. My suspicion is that it was lightly polished at some point, but I'm not the original owner. The bezel's in excellent condition and bidirectionally rotates as it should. The crystal's fine, with very minor surface scuffs. The compressor crown's worn but good. The caseback has a crown etched into the back; your guess is as good as any I have re what it signifies or who put it there. It'll ship on the generic 20mm beads of rice it's pictured with.

DIAL+HANDS: Excellent and original. Everything's as it should be.

MVMT: The Tissot 872 is a Lemania 1277; it's obviously in the same family as the Omega 861. It's running well, the chronograph starts/stops/resets as it should, and it's keep accurate time for me over a year. I've not had it serviced, but, again, it's run fine in the time I've had it.

Price is $5500; watch and I are in Indiana. Happy to answer questions, provide as many references as requested, and work out shipping/payment method with the buyer. Thanks for looking, and huge huge thanks to Jeff/CT for the community and scholarship.
