FS: Red Heuer Cigar Style Box (Early '70s) *PIC*

Heuer Red box – cigar style

I have decided to sell this box separately. I was unsure if it came with the 66/67 Carrera 45 Dato or the 70/71 Carrera 12, but have now concluded that it was the Carrera 12 2447N. Since the box is stamped with the "Automatic" designation, that would not have been around when I got the 45 Dato. But it is obviously not the "correct" box for the 2447N either, since that is not an automatic. I've been told than Heuer was not very "fussy" about which watch went in which box, and I think this is another example of that. I got this watch & box direct from Heuer – New York, so there was no reseller involved that might have mixed up the box.

This box is in great condition. It has been resting in my drawer for about 40 years. The only thing that keeps it from being Mint condition is the discoloration & color loss on the gold colored trim piece below the lid opening. I have tried to show this in the pictures. This small color loss is on each end of the box and is shown clearly in the photos. I will try to post a couple of the photos in this post, but there are several more in my photobucket alblum at http://photobucket.com/dickkr1heuerbox

If you have an automatic and are looking for a box, this is it. Since I am a little unsure about the value of this box, I am asking for offers around the $500 range.

For offers close to the $500 mark, I will pay for the shipping in the US. For foreign buyers, I will ship at my cost.

Thank you for looking!

PS: I can not seem to master including several pictures in this post. Please go to the Photobucket link above for several additional pictures. Thanks!

Dick
