FS: 1950's Heuer Auto Gilt Dial for repair

I've had this cracking old Heuer for donkeys years.. one of the first old Heuers I ever bought!
I bought it as a non-runner from Austrailia of all places, I sourced a running new movement, but never got around to getting it sorted out, and now the spare movement has stopped!

The original case was thick gold plated, but really badly worn.. so I sent it way for stripping, with the intention of getting it re-plated. But the guy I used for blasting didn't do a very good job, and then said they couldn't re-plate it - argghh. So it sat in a drawer for many moons...

Anyway, after years of searching, I found a suitable 50's stainless steel Heuer case, and that sat in a drawer for several Summers... then I pulled my finger out and had it transplanted by James (dreamboat10). He fitted a new crown... it fits nice and flush, but on the underside, there is a cosmetic gap.. nothing to worry about - the original crown would have been one of those tiney tiny jobs that 'sinks' right into the case - these aren't readily available. (I will include the original case and spare movement). But it looks great in the Heuer stainless case.

The dial has a nice even mottled patina to it. I've fitted a band new 18mm calf strap strap. It has has a brand new high dome crystal fitted, which looks great. It's also had a new stainless crown. Movement is an early 50's automatic AS 1561, fully signed.

It looks like there are gold dots missing on the 'hour' markers, but in fact, there is original lume there, but it has aged to a deep brown, and hard to see in the photos. The arabic numbers are 'sunk' into the dial.

It's ripe for someone to have fettle/service it, and it'll be a lovely little gilt dialed Heuer watch, it even has drilled lugs.. and as we all know, no watch-nut can resist drilled lugs.

PS. The Heuer shield and 'Automatic' lettering is fine, just in case you were wondering, as the seconds hand is in the way.. as a non-runner, I can't move it out the way!

It would suit a (very) small mans wrist or ideally a lady, as it's old school small...

33.8mm case width
18mm lugs
11.8mm thick
36mm with crown
41mm lug to lug

£195 or will accept any reasonable offer

Thanks,

Stewart
