FS: Vintage ’73 Seiko 6138-3002 “Jumbo” Automatic Chrono

Stunning retro 1973 Seiko 6138- 3002, also known as the Seiko “ Jumbo” due to its size - 41mm width excluding crown, approx. 15mm depth. One of a long line of chronographs using Seiko’s workhorse and bullet-proof 6138 chrono movement. This piece is in excellent condition – the movement is very clean ( as you can see in the photos ) and it keeps accurate time with everything working as it should.

The chrono functions perfectly – with hands zero-ing to 12 o’clock as expected. The chronograph keeps excellent time with buttons working very crisply. The day/date is set via the second stop on the crown. The hands still retain some lume and must have been replaced some while back ( they are the correct ones for the chrono). Also the chrono and sub dial hands still retain a strong and striking yellow colour which is often not the case for examples of this age.

The stainless steel case is in very good condition, no nasty tooling marks or scratches - for a watch that is 40 years old, it is in great condition. The crystal is scratch free. The case measures 41mm across.

The Chrono is on a solid / chunky aftermarket Oyster band that suits the weight and size of the watch head. However, an original Seiko band comes with the watch in case you want the full authentic 70’s look!

These seiko’s are incredible value and becoming very collectible – the design and quality of the case and dial rival the 70’s Heuer and other higher-end brands. If you want that 70’s “racing –look” on your wrist - you do not have to spend a fortune!

I have many refs for sales and trades of vintage and high value watches. This is a beautiful vintage Seiko - and is great for either every day wear or as a collector’s piece.
You can get this classic time-piece for 390USD shipping and paypal included. Please contact me if you are interested. No trades please but am open to sensible offers
