FOR SALE -

Chronosport UDT Watch, Type IIb (1980’s)vintage.

Before other companies were even thinking about making watches that combined analog and digital formats, the Chronosport UDT was the warrior's choice. The Chronosport UDT uses a Breitling movement; top quality Swiss movement at a fraction of the cost. Chronosport is not an off brand but a specialized market geared towards marine sports – yacht racing, diving and military applications.

The crystal is in decent condition. There is a shallow chip at 3 o’clock position and a few spatter scars on the face (looks like weld spatter or burn;) neither of which affected the recent pressure test. Replacement crystals are available from the CHRONOSERV, INC facility if desired.

This watch IS NOT a military issue watch.

The unidirectional crown turns properly for underwater dive timing, or any other time passage use. The clicks are not EASY, but they are not difficult either. A hard enough bump might turn the crown, but other than that is stays in place for accurate time tracking.

The watch functions perfectly. The digital readout is clear and easy to see. The available displays are:
Month, Date, Day,
Hours, minutes, second (select 12 or 24 hour format)
Alarm time
Stop watch

The hands and hour markers are all luminous and easy to see in the dark. Like a lot of early luminous watches, the more "load" the one receives from sunlight or other light sources, the brighter the hands and markers appear.

The watch will be delivered carefully packaged in the original box along with the original unused Customer Warranty & Service Record. It has sat inside of its box for a number of years and was recently serviced by CHRONOSERV, INC in Norwalk, CT; documentation is provided. Routine service cost is currently $105.00 which includes replacing the battery, pressure test etc. Also includes additional watchband and Suunto dive compass.

For a comprehensive history of these watches, check the following website: http://www.freewebs.com/billyschorr/chronosportudt.htm

I have not satisfactorily completed the uploading of photos and documents to a web-link but am happy to email photos of watch, accessories and documentation if you are interested.

I am asking $875.00 (including shipping and insurance;) according to research, this should be fair market value as recent service has just been performed.

Thanks,

Dan Gault
