FS: Rare Omega Seamaster Chronograph 145.023 Darth Vader

Hello all, here we have an ultra-rare Omega Seamaster Chronograph Reference 145.0023, coined the “Darth Vader” by late Omega authoritarian Chuck Maddox. The Vader is an incredibly scarce reference from the early 1970s that is seldom seen for sale. This Seamaster is powered by the Cal. 861 hand winding chronograph movement.

For a great write up with more information on this reference take a look at a great article published by our friends over at Wound for Life on the Vader and its cousin: http://www.woundforlife.com/2014/07/23/lessons-wristory-omega-seamaster-anakin-skywalker-and-darth-vader/

Condition is per the photos and as follows:

Case: 44mm octagonal stainless steel case with a black ceramic cap. The case is in very good condition with minor wear of the ceramic in some spots which have been outlined in the photos.

Bezel: Internal tachymeter bezel in grey with slight patina/fading as shown in the photos.

Dial/Hands: Original tritium dial and hand set in very good condition. Some of the applied metal hour markers show slight wear/corrosion however the dial surface is very clean as shown. Hands are tritium with white running hands and orange chronograph hands in good condition.

Caseback: Original seamaster caseback in good condition with a crisp hippocampus. Inside stamped 145.023.

Crystal: Very clear mineral glass crystal in good condition with only minor wear.

Movement: Omega cal. 861 hand wound chronograph movement in excellent condition and running well with all functions working properly including the chronograph resetting to zero. Service history is unknown but the watch is keeping good time.

Bracelet/Strap: Aftermarket PVD mesh bracelet. Clasp has minor surface scratches but no missing black coating. It is currently sized for a 7.25” wrist but has two extensions on the clasp left to expand.

Accessories: None. Sold as watch only.

Currently taking fielding offers until 7/15 for this great watch via email, info@luxuwrist.com. Payment to be made via PayPal or wire transfer at time of sale. Domestic shipping will be included and US buyers are preferred. International shipping will be at cost.

I have many references available as a buyer and seller on various forums and my business Luxuwrist was just featured by Wound For Life seen here: http://www.woundforlife.com/2015/07/08/up-and-coming-vintage-dealers/
I know I do not have many posts on CT but I am a long time lurker and know with the recent influx of scammers buyers are wary of pretty much everything. I have no issues proving the watch is in my possession or verifying my identity. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Thank you,
Tom Joy
