FS: 1968 Omega Speedmaster 145.012-67SP, cal.321, Pulsations bez

Up for sale is my 1968 Omega Speedmaster Professional, reference 145.012-67SP.

The watch was produced on 19th April 1968, and delivered to Belgium. (Extract of the Archives included in the sale).

Late caliber 321 movement, # 26’071’721.

With rare original type Pulsations bezel (thin font).

Stepped dial, with spaced T, applied logo, medium E, long markers, baton hands and drop seconds. Seahorse with Speedmaster in the centre on the caseback.

SP-type pushers. Crown with wide type Logo and 32 teeth.

I purchased this watch at Christie’s Geneva, 16th May 2016. I have since changed the bracelet from the 7912 Steelinox, 1/66 and 516 endlinks, to a modern Omega service bracelet of vintage type (ref.1171 with 633 end links).

The watch is running, including the chronograph function and although I have not tested it for strict accuracy it is keeping reasonable time. Sometimes the chronograph function ‘jumps’ slightly when activating pushers. I have not had the watch serviced, and don’t know its previous service history, so I recommend the new owner judge for themselves what is required.

What have I noticed that I don’t like? Lume markers on the dial are eggshell white, and I wonder if it has been re-lumed. Under a loupe however, the lume plots look crisp and straight to me eye. I think the main deficit with this watch is the hands, which although they look consistent with correct type for this reference, have been repainted at some point, and not very well. They are livable without a loupe inspection, but you might want to re-finish them, or replace them.

That’s it. I’m happy to answer further questions, or take further photos for an interested buyer.

I like the watch, but I am selling because I have decided I would like an earlier pre-professional straight lugs example. If you have one I would be open to trade. I am also looking for certain Heuer watches.

I am asking US$9,250 for this watch, including the service bracelet and extract, but excluding the 7912 bracelet and 516 endlinks that came with it (they are a bit too early for this reference anyway).

Thanks.
