FS: Breitling Navitimer ref. 806 *PIC*

Up for sale a classic Breitling Navitimer ref. 806, powered by a signed column-wheel Venus 178 movement.

Moving this fine example of THE classic pilot chronograph of the mid-1960s. Powered by the large (14 lines or 31mm diameter) and beautiful Venus 178 movement, it has signed a matte black dial with silver sub-dials, and a white sliding bezel ring. Don’t wait until Xmas...

The case, all stainless steel, 41mm diameter, has been polished in the past and shows wear consistent with a sports watch. It bears scratches and minor shocks. The bevels on the lugs, though quite visible, are partly smoothed. Snap-on caseback is in good condition, signed and bears ref. 806. The winding crown is signed with the “B” logo. Original and showing some wear, the bezel sits tight and turns as it should, precisely, in both directions. Chrono pushers are in fine condition.

The original dial is in weathered condition but evenly aged, with faded tritium markers (still present). The dial bears some discolouration and spots. The hands are the correct set, with faded tritium lume, but perhaps a later replacement. The domed plexi, a replacement, is in excellent condition.

The movement is the correct Breitling signed Venus 178 caliber, keeping good time. It has been well taken care of and shows no discoloration or excessive toolmarks. The watch winds and sets smoothly, all chronograph functions work properly.

Included in the sale: a new leather strap (pictured) with a signed Breitling buckle. No box or papers. No documented service history.

My price: 2950 euros, shipping included in EU (preferred option). International shipping outside EU at extra cost.
