I have for sale a Longines Divers Ultra-Chron wristwatch Ref. 7970. with Stainless steel 41mm case, black tritium dial.

It's powered by the Cal. 431 automatic Hi-beat 36.000 bph movement with date.

This watch is rare and collectable - particularly in this ‘time capsule’ condition, but still a great daily wearer.

Manufactured in the late 60’s – early 70’s, The Longines Ultra-Chron cal 431 watch was originally introduced to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the founding of the Company.

The original advertising said it was the most accurate watch in the world.

The watch is totally original with the case in excellent condition - unpolished with super sharp bevels and original lapped surfaces.

The black tritium indexed dial is in perfect original un-restored and un-marked condition.

It has the original Longines stainless steel crown with logo and Bakelite uni directional bezel with no cracks or blemishes. The hands are in super clean condition. The tritium lume on the hands, dial and bezel have a very pleasing patina perfectly in keeping with a watch approaching 50 years of age.

The movement was serviced and oiled a couple of years ago and has been worn only a couple of times since, it all works perfectly and keeps good time.

The watch comes on a leather strap with SS buckle.

No box or papers, but I do have an original advertising cutting and timing cert.

It’s difficult to fix a price for a watch in such excellent condition – it's easily the best I’ve seen.
