FS: Universal Geneve Polerouter with 138SS bumper movement

Hey guys,

For sale is this absolutely beautiful Universal Geneve Polerouter. The Polerouter has a rich history behind its name and happens to be one of Genta's earliest watch designs. The "Pole" was made to commemorate SAS’s (Scandanavian Airlines Systems) polar flights from New York/Los Angeles directly to Europe. For further reading, I recommend Worn & Wound's article "A Brief History of the Universal Geneve Polerouter": http://wornandwound.com/a-brief-history-of-the-universal-geneve-polerouter/ .

This is an early example (1954-1955) with the automatic "bumper" movement, cal. 138SS. The case measures ca 35mm across w/o crown, but wears larger thanks to its gorgeous bombé shaped lugs with still visible curves and edges. The lug width is 19mm and the watch still has its original UG-signed crown, which is not very common these days. The dial has aged and developed a super nice patina that gives the dial a champagne color that shimmers beautifully in the sunlight. There is a small mark at 13.30 on the inner bezel. The caseback has clear, visible numerals and a big UG logo. I have not noticed any deviation when it comes to time keeping, but the service history is unknown.

The mark at 14:30-14:45 on the dial pictured below are in the crystal, not the dial.

The watch comes on a 2-stitch leather strap as pictured (I think it deserves a better strap, but have none available ATM).

Price: 850€ net to me.
Shipping: The watch is located in Sweden and I will ship with Swedish Postal Service EMS. Shipping (45€) not included in price.
Returns: If you are happy, I am happy. But don't hesitate to ask one question to much :)

I'd be happy to send more pics over email.

Questions? Send me a mail or post a comment below!

Well met,
Jaco
