This specific 1971 Datejust Ref. 1601 is a unique variant, commonly referred to as the "Wide Boy" as the marker and hand configuration are much wider in look and design than the typical stick markers and baton hands more commonly found on Datejust references of the same era. This Ref.1601 retains its original 18k bezel which has taken on a fantastic patina and the case appears to not have been polished and retains the factory brushed finish.

CASE & BRACELET

The case shows signs of very minor polishing. The original 18k white gold fluted bezel is in flawless condition and has achieved a slight patina. The watch comes complete on an original Rolex 62518H folded link Jubilee bracelet with era correct 55 end links. The bracelet is stamped 4/70 on the inside clasp and bears the big crown stepped clasp which is a sought after variant of the 62518H bracelet. The bracelet does have a slight stretch which is common with Rolex folded link bracelets of this era.

DIAL & HANDS

The dial of this specific 1971 Datejust Ref. 1601 is a unique variant that is commonly referred to as the "Wide Boy" as the marker and hand configuration are much wider in look and design than the typical stick markers and baton hands more commonly found on Datejust references of the same era. "Wide Boy" dial and cigarette style non-luminous hands are in flawless condition as is the dial.

None. The watch was just serviced and running at COSC spec. The watch will come with a 1-year warranty of accurate time keeping.
