FS: Longines 6B/159 RAF Pilots Wristwatch c.1942 *LINK*

Dear All

For sale is this Longines 6B/159 RAF Pilots Wristwatch c.1942

These beautiful wrist watches were issued to RAF navigators and pilots during the Second World War.

The beautiful and all original Longines 6B/159 watch for sale was produced in 1942 at the heart of WW2. The watch would have been shipped to Arthur Baume, the Longines dealer in London prior to it being forwarded onto the RAF for active service. The last watch of its kind is recorded as being delivered to Baume in London on 31 May 1943.

Interestingly, the sides of the chrome casing have been scratched with a name and address which are purportedly that of the original owner of the watch. The markings appear to read on one side as “37 Stratford Rd” and the other as “Brande”. To us, this personal connection to the watch makes it all the more appealing and desirable to own.

The watch for sale is in excellent original condition having been sympathetically serviced by one of our highly skilled and experienced horologists.

The original factory dial has aged beautifully and is in very good condition.

The beautiful blue steel hands and crown are all correct to the original specification of the Longines 6B/159 watch.

The chrome outer casing has numerous scratches and marks commensurate with age. These include the markings purportedly made by the original owner of the watch. The stainless steel case back has all the usual RAF issue markings.

The beautiful 12.68N high grade gilt movement is all correct and is in excellent condition and is currently running well and keeping good time.

Please see photos below:

The watch is listed for sale on our website priced at £1,695 which includes a newly fitted NATO strap and quality hand-made leather watch pouch. This price includes free shipping for members of Chronotrader!

All our items are guaranteed to be completely genuine and authentic. We offer a fourteen day "no quibble" money back guarantee on all the items we sell together with a full six-month warranty on all our wristwatches and clocks. This means that you can buy from us with complete confidence.
