FS: 1960s Croton Nivada Grenchen Aquamatic For Sale *PIC*

Up for sale is a vintage Croton Nivada Grenchen Aquamatic, dating from the 1960s.

Nivada offered a full line of superbly made timepieces from simple time-only pieces to professional grade aviation chronographs. A Nivada (aptly named the Antarctic) could even be found on the wrists of explorers to the South Pole during Operation Deep Freeze in the late 50's. Thanks to their legal situation, the exact same pieces can be found branded as Croton, Nivada, Nivada Grenchen, or Croton Nivada Grenchen, causing some confusion.

This particular piece, from their Aquamatic line, is just one example of Nivada at their best. While many Aquamatics have large markers and art-deco style numerals, this variant is notable for its minimal, Bauhaus-eque aesthetic thanks to its slender hands and hour markers, uncluttered dial, and handsome 34mm case.

Specs:
Case diameter: 34mm (excl. crown)
Case condition: chrome-plated case is in excellent condition over all with very light wear from age and no plating loss
Lug Diameter: 18mm
Strap Type: 18mm black leather strap
Dial condition: dial and hands are in excellent condition
Caseback and Crown: screw-down caseback and unsigned crown.

Price is $350.00 paid by check or wire including insured worldwide shipping. Please contact oren@analogshift.com for more info. Thanks for looking!
