The movement in this 1970's Patek ref 3597 is the Beta 21 quartz movement. You may be asking yourself Patek Philippe with a quartz movement?? And the answer to that yep 100% Patek. In the later part of the 1960's. Patek Philippe along with 20 other prominent brands, founded the CES (Centre Electronique Horloger) to study and produce quartz movements. In 1969 the Beta 21 quartz was developed which differentiated itself from the previous quarts movement executions including the Beta 1 and Beta 2 by displaying a sweeping seconds hand.

It is said that there were only 6,000 Beta 21 movements ever produced across all brands utilizing the Beta 21 technology which makes the Beta 21 a rare movement but what even rarer is the watches that encase them. Some of the other brands and references that can be found leveraging the Beta 21 quartz technology are the Rolex 5100 Oysterquartz, Omega Electroquartz references, and the Piaget 14101 references as well

The example we have here is in rare 18k solid white gold and contains a not often seen silver dial. Additionally, this specific example retains its original and highly unique bracelet which is specific to the Patek ref 3597.
