FS: Omega Memomatic Alarm Seamaster 166.071 Cal. 980 *LINK* *PIC*

For Sale: Omega Memomatic alarm watch, featuring the cal.980, which is said to be the first mechanical "automatic" alarm wristwatch (one barrel that operated both functions).

I purchased this watch from it's original owner last summer, who bought this in the 70's, wore it for a few years, and then consigned it to a drawer until last year, when he started clearing out his office and planning for retirement to Florida. The watch had never been serviced, opened or worked on in any way, and was running, but needed some attention after many years of not being used.

After a full service, new crystal and mainspring, etc. this is ready for daily wear, but I am currently getting for ready for a baby due in August and trying to downsize on watches, so, here it is.

Dimensions:
Case: 40mm wide
Lug to lug: 50mm
Thickness: 14.5mm
Lug width: 20mm

Case is completely original and unpolished. Normal wear, but original sunburst finish intact. See pics for more description. Dial is immaculate, and the tritium lume markers are in great shape and still glow for some time in the dark. All original hands have some light wear and "patina". Logos remain fully visible on caseback.

Comes with original 1159 bracelet with 174 endlinks, sized at its largest for about a 7.25 inch wrist.

The watch comes freshly serviced by Kelly Hunter at Art of the Watch in Portland, OR. In addition to a complete service and regulation, he installed a new Omega crystal, mainspring, and two other movement components. All receipts, invoices, and correspondence will be included with the watch for the new owner's piece of mind and warranty. The only mechanical imperfection on the watch is that the date switches over at 2am instead of 12. Kelly and I decided to leave this be, as everything else had already passed quality control. Other than that, everything functions as it should, alarm works great (I can make a video if needed), watch keeps great time, all good, it's ready to roll.

Asking $1850, which includes insured shipping via UPS second day to US addresses only. Payment via paypal (g+s, i'll pay fee) or Zelle bank transfer. Open to considering reasonable offers, and happy to answer any questions you may have via messaging, text, phone, or email. Just drop me an email. Plenty of references from other online forums and my ebay is 'selclar' with 100% positive.

Here's an article from a few years back from old school Hodinkee with the same reference in very similar shape: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/found-a-killer-omega-memomatic-from-1975

Thanks CT for the space!
