FS: 1950s Gruen steel chronograph cases and dials mint NOS *PIC*

Super rare parts to find NOS to build or restore a steel Gruen chrono. Two options available: You can buy a set with an NOS case and the matching dial shown, or you can buy the case only because I have another identical NOS case by itself.

Both the case and dial is mint NOS rating TZ 10. Stainless steel two-button screw-back oversized chronograph case with pushers, crown, crystal, dial and spring bars -- this is 1950s new old stock. The Gruen chronograph case is stamped inside Gruen Watch Co. Switzerland 770R with the mint original finish on the solid stainless steel case. The two-register dial has a silver background with red and blue telemetric chrono registers around the outside and reads Gruen Precision 17 Jewels. Dial is flawless; anything you see in the photos on the dial is dust not imperfections. Dial feet are at 5mins and 36mins positions. Diameter of the dial is 31.5mm. Case measurements are as follows: 45mm top lug to bottom lug; 37mm diameter without the crown; 40mm diameter with the unsigned crown counted in. I believe this chronograph takes a Valjoux 7730 movement to complete it, maybe others will work, too. Or use the parts to restore an existing watch with a bad case or dial.

Email billmahoney for pictures of the dial and more pics of the case.
