FS: Mondia vintage chronograph with Valjoux 7733

Mondia vintage chronograph with Valjoux 7733

Up for sale is this Mondia chronograph. With its metallic blue dial, contrasting white and red colours and rare NSA Novavit bracelet it is a really cool looking 70’is quality chronograph.
It is in surprisingly good condition – properly never polished – running strong – marked Mondia on crown, movement, case back and bracelet.

History:
In 1969, following the introduction of the automatic chronograph „El Primero“, Mondia and Movado were included in the Zenith watch company. From this merger arose the holding company "Mondia-Zenith-Movado". Mondia was aimed on the mid-market segment.

Dimension:
39.5mm wide without crown.
41.9mm wide with crown.
42.8mm high.
12.1mm thick.

Case:
Big cushion shaped stainless steel case in good condition. Of cause not unmarked of something like 40 years, but grindings are still clear. Also the case back I remarkable well preserved. There is reason to believe that it has never been polished.

Dial and hands:
Both dial and hands are spotless and with all lume intact.
On the circumference of the dial is a clear white tachymeter scale.

Crystal:
Still very clear but it has two dings that I have not been able to polished away.

Movement:
Valjoux 7733. It looks wonderful with the golden rhodium parts. When used in Heuer, Breitling, Zenith and many chronographs of that age it is nickel plated.
I have no idea of the service history but it runs as it should and resets to zero. Pusher action and setting of the watch feels light and crisp.

Crown:
Original Mondia marked.

Bracelet:
The Mondia marked NSA Novavit bracelet is not only a very rare find but also in good condition.
Total length (including the watch) is apx. 195mm so it will fit most.

Price:
Taking the condition of the watch and the original bracelet into account I am looking for €650 OBRO.
Price include worldwide signed for delivery. If you want insurance I will find the price for you.

Thanks for looking and thanks to OTD/Chronotrader.

Peter. Denmark
